The lead single from the new Montgomery Gentry album, "Back When I Knew It All," which is the title-track, is the fastest rising single to date for the popular twosome. The up-tempo Country-Rocker is already inside of the Top-20 on the charts, and now their fans have a new album to look forward to. "Back When I Knew It All," their seventh album, will be released on Tuesday, June 10th.
The album was cut at the legendary Ardent Studio in Memphis. "We were down in Ardent, where a bunch of legendary, mostly rock and roll acts had recorded," comments Troy Gentry. "We wanted to do something different. I think it came together well down there, and it shows."
Yeah, and it just really had that great groove, too," Eddie Montgomery continues. "When you go in and you see where Zeppelin recorded there, Bob Dylan and B.B. King. Man, the vibe. I don't know if you believe in ghosts or not, but I felt that the ghosts were in the room when you were singing and playing. So it was really, really cool."
The album, which was produced by Blake Chancey, includes two Eddie Montgomery originals - "God Knows Who I Am," and "One In Every Crowd." The album also includes some special guests. Toby Keith appears on "I Pick My Parties" and Five For Fighting's John Ondrasik on "Roll With Me."
