Capitol Records artist Dierks Bentley has come a long way from playing some of Nashville's B-list bars on its famed Lower-Broadway strip. In just five years he has gone from playing for tips to headlining some of the biggest summer stages across the country, and this year, Bentley plans to take his live show around the world in an effort to connect with as many new fans as possible.
This summer Dierks will be playing some of America's most famous music festivals and then will tour extensively in Canada, England, Ireland, Norway, France and Japan.
Some of the festivals that will feature Mr. Bentley include Country Thunder in Florence, AZ; the Stagecoach Festival, in Indio, CA; Country Fair in Atlanta, GA; and Country USA in OshKosh, WI.
And finally, Dierks will be the only Country artist on the famed Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL, joining artists like Radiohead, Kayne West, Nine Inch Nails and many other world class acts.
Playing the famous Lollapalooza isn't really a stretch for Dierks: "We played Bonnaroo last year, and honestly, we didn't know if anyone would even show up to see our set," says Bentley. "But we were pleasantly surprised to have a huge crowd who were genuinely into the music. When the Lollapalooza offer came in, it seemed like another opportunity to go out as the underdog and try to win over some new fans, he said."
